Stephen is experienced in assisting small to medium size
businesses with profit improvement, business growth and
development, management assistance, asset accumulation,
asset protection, taxation strategies and planning, risk
management, succession planning and estate planning.
Stephen has over 30 years experience in chartered
accountancy and is committed to professional
development. Stephen attends many courses and seminars
each year to make sure that he is informed of the latest
developments in order to ensure he can assist clients
when they need advice in a timely way.
This commitment to professional development is further
evidenced by, after initial qualification as a
chartered accountant, the completion of a Graduate
Diploma in Financial Management, Master of Business
Administration, Bachelor of Laws with Honours, Master
of Laws, Graduate Diploma of Practical Legal Training
and the completion of subjects to qualify as a
Certified Financial Planner (TM). The Graduate Diploma
in Financial Management course concentrated on the
small business topics of management, finance, business
planning, marketing and related subjects. The MBA
course covered general management subjects’ including
strategy and human resources but half the course was
in the specialist stream in agribusiness. The
electives in the law course covered advanced contract
law and advanced trust law and the honours component
covered an aspect of tax law litigation, legal
professional privilege. The Master of Laws included
international taxation law, comparative corporate tax
law, comparative income tax, the law of tax avoidance
and anti avoidance, public international law, private
international law and the law of asset protection.
Stephen is admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court
of New South Wales (non practicing).
Previously up until 2008 Stephen had served for a
number of years on the business services technical
committee of the Bentleys Australia group. This
committee developed and coordinated the standard
working papers and developed coordinated responses for
taxation and business advisory services including
assisting with the development of the BOSS (Business
Owners Succession System) manual.
Financial planning services are also provided by
Stephen who is a proper authority holder for Maher
Securities Pty Limited a licenced securities dealer.

As a long term resident of Tamworth there is a
commitment to local and regional development through
past involvement with the Tamworth and District
Chamber of Commerce, Business Enterprise Centre and
Tamworth Development Corporation.

When he is not working Stephen enjoys reading,
jogging, going to the gym, martial arts training and
